Nancy was the capital of the historic duchy of Lorraine.
It is now the capital of the département of
Meurthe-et-Moselle.

is a town that symbolises the 18th C and still has an intense intellectual relationship
with the Age of Enlightenment.
Stanislas, an enlightened king, defender of the freedom of expression,
confirmed Lorraine as a land of ideas.
