Our Cottage in the Woods...

This room has windows on three sides, with lots of treetops in view.
In summer, with the door open,
we get a breeze from the cross-ventilation to a window out of view.
It feels like we are camping out in the woods.

The room is basically French in design, but has Italian accents.
The headboard is a plaque with a Renaissance villa in Florence and its gardens.

To the right of the bed on the wall is a large miniature portrait after Titian,
in a beautiful 18th Century Florentine frame.
The young woman looks a lot like Maike!

Not showing well on the left is a painting of Lake Maggiore in Italy.
We vacationed in the Italian Lakes, at the foot of the Alps, in 2001.
(The colors in the painting are much more intense.)
The whole photo is too light. I probably used flash.

The third room upstairs is my office, shown in the store section.
The master bath is between two of the rooms.

For the latter, I recently acquired a handmade,
19th century French, cutwork and lace panel for the window...
my first foray into antique lace.
(A perfect fit!)

There is also a small attic off the Den
and a large attic above the entire second floor.
